Sporting a rock on her finger nearly as big as the bump in her belly, actress Kate Hudson did little to hide her secret in an appearance on the TODAY show Wednesday morning. And Matt Lauer certainly couldn't miss the scoop.
"Could you place your hand in my hand for a second please?" Lauer asked. "I just want to see something." Hudson giggled and gave the host her hand and a closeup revealed a very large diamond. "Is this new?" Lauer asked. "This is new!" Hudson said.
The actress, who has been dating and is pregnant with the child of Matthew Bellamy, frontman for the British band Muse, said the engagement happened about a week ago and she "hadn't really announced it."
"He's a beautiful man and I'm very excited," Hudson, 32, said of Bellamy, calling the proposal "very sweet and very romantic." Watch the Lauer and Hudson exchange here:
