The Internets are in a tizzy over a rumor that Jay-Z and Beyonce may perform at the royal wedding reception and, at this point, there are even a few outlets reporting the upcoming performance as fact. We’re still unconvinced that there’s anything’s official to tell you about, especially since the scuttlebutt seems to be based on a single quote from a “source” (anonymous, of course, because is there any other kind?) who, speaking to the Daily Star, said, “Both William and Kate are massive fans of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. They really wanted to make their big day even more special and what better way than by getting pop royalty to perform at the party?” The fact that Jay-Z and Beyonce are in Paris – you know, another place in Europe – has only added fuel to the rumor fire.
And maybe it’s true, but what with the palace, Jay-Z and Beyonce all refusing to respond to multiple requests for comment, it’s really kind of impossible to say right now. The other thing is ARE WE REALLY ALL SO BORED IN OUR LIVES THAT THIS IS ALL WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT? (And, yes, it’s kind of ironic that I’m asking, since I’m the one who chose to do this write up.) Here’s hoping that the day after the wedding, April 30, we all take up hobbies. Mark your calendars.
